This was the biggest find a way to win game that I have ever seen. I am going to be very honest here I was thinking of how much I was going to rip some guys in a post game thread thinking that they had lost this game. But lucky for me I don't have to do that now. Just another week of Chiefs football. They find a way to win. They just are that team that finds away to keep getting away with it
Mahomes: He did a lot to win that game. He was under constant pressure all game long. Today was a rare moment in his career that he missed the play that would have won the game. Missing Kelce in the end zone is just not something he does. It was a game losing play. He doesn't do that very often it is just a moment to show that he is human. I am sure he thought he had lost the game on the final drive of the game. He has to be better. There have been many games in his career that he has bailed out what was a very lackluster defense. Today he got one of those back from them. They saved him from having the stick with him all week long. I am sure he will still think about that throw during the week he is very aware that he missed that throw. He's one of the greats and even when the greats have a bad throw they always always bounce back. I have no doubt that is what we will see from Patrick Mahomes.
Andy: Overall I have not been very frustrated with Andy's playcalling this year compared to other seasons. But today he was not on his A game for sure. You have to know who you are playing against. Denver was one of the best pass rushing teams in the league coming into the game. And you have a banged up WR core and the Offensive line has not been the greatest this year. You have to put a game plan together for those factors. Denver was doing what we should have been doing with their young QB. Got the ball out quick. We did that at times but not nearly enough IMO. He like Mahomes got bailed out a little bit.
Dave Toub: He goes under the radar a bit but at least once a year our Special teams unit makes a play that wins us a game like they did today. We are very lucky to have him with the Chiefs. And he deserves a shout out today. Just give Harrison a bit of the business for that last kickoff. That just can not happen.
Hunt: Another week he was a big part of the win. He didn't have the best day running the ball. But he found a way to impact the game by catching the ball. We are getting closer and closer to having Pacheco back. Man other teams are not going to enjoy him being back.
Defense: Just another week of the Chiefs defense doing what they do. They could have lost that game with a single scoring drive in the 2nd half but that didn't happen. They like the offense got bailed out by the special teams unit allowing them to get into field goal range. But then again they were put in a bad spot by the Special teams on that last kickoff allowing Denver to get the ball at the 40. But at the end of the day 14 points given up in today's NFL is **** good.
Welp next week we are going back to Buffalo. This might be our first L as the Bills have had the Chiefs number in the regular season over the past few years as much as we have had theirs in the post season. Today was a game that all 3 phases of the team did something that won the game. They all 3 also did things that would have been the reason that we lost the game. If we are going to beat the Bills we can't do the later. It's going to be a big challenge we can only hope that today's effort was just a bit of a trap game. But the bottom line of this all is the Chiefs FOUND A WAY TO WIN THE GAME. And that is what Championship teams do it's what the Chiefs do week in and week out. Hopefully they continue to do that going into next week.
