The Kansas City Chiefs are unlike any sports team I have ever seen. They find ways to make every mistake in the world and come out on top. It's one thing to get away with it once or twice here or there. But the amount of times this team has gotten away with things and managed to get the win is just unbelievable. If they tried to make a movie out of some of this stuff it would never get the green light because of just how unbelievable it really is. I again would say they can't keep getting away with this but then next week I could very well be talking about one they got away with.
Mahomes: Ok lets just say it Mahomes is not having a great year. Last year I felt like many it was more the WRs than Mahomes. This year I think it's more on Mahomes than anyone. He is getting cocky. You want your QB to have the confidence that he can make any throw. Mahomes is starting to get to the point where he thinks he can make every throw and make a throw he should never throw. Alex Smith was a QB that was Far far to safe with the ball. Mahomes is starting to become a little reckless with it. The INT tonight was just an example of that. He just went into the play like he was going to throw that pass no matter what. He said so himself after the game that he is trusting his arm a little to much. Hopefully he is able to get himself calmed down.
Reid: Look I get it you were down your number 1 RB. It's makes sense that you would not go with as much of a running game as you would on a normal week. But man the 1st half playcalling was far far to pass happy. 27 passes in the first half at one point I looked and it was almost a 4-1 pass to run. That's just not going to get the job done. This has been an issue with Reid in the past. To his credit Big Red calmed it down much more in the 2nd half. Everyone loves those big pass plays but you need to at least make the defense think that you might run the ball. Hopefully with the way Steele ran in the 2nd half he is much more willing to trust him with the football next week.
Kelce: I think it's time we start to wonder what is going on with him. While tonight he had his biggest game of the season it was 4 catches for 30 yards. Is father time catching up with him? I sure hope not. It's been really sad to see how little he has been a factor so far this year. He might be in a position that he is saving his best for the end of the year. But I think it's time to wonder.
Defense. Well just another week for them. The first drive looked far to easy for Atlanta and then Spaggs does what Spaggs does. He is the anti Bob Sutton. Sutton's defense would start the game out well and then fade. I think I like Spaggs better.
Connor continues to be a very exciting young player. He just has a way of being there to make things happen. He found a way to be there to get a pick when Cousin's was hit as he threw. I just love seeing the kid play more and more each week. He has had a couple of young player moments for sure. Tonight he got burnt on a 3rd down pass which allowed Atlanta to keep a drive alive. But the way he is making plays you are more than willing to live with those learning moments. he is more than worth it.
The Chiefs are now off to a 3-0 start. They have a game up on LA and they have a chance to make that 2 next week when they go to LA. Herbert is banged up with an ankle so the Chiefs are getting a little lucky with that. But they really need to focus on some of the little things this week. And maybe just maybe next week I will not have to say that they just can't keep getting away with this. But I think we all know that's just not going to happen. So I will be right back here next week to talk about how they got away with one hopefully. GO CHIEFS
