Well well well what do we have. A win that while wasn't perfect also wasn't really stressful. This was the closest to a complete game that we have seen from this team in a long long time.
Offense: What a job by Hunt and Steele running the ball. Mahomes added in some really nice runs as well. And the run where he dove for the 1st down marker to extend a drive was a classic Mahomes coming up big moment. Props to Andy for sticking with the run as much as he did tonight. It's not something he is always able to do but he was outstanding with the running game tonight. Props to Hunt as well he really stayed in football shape while he was waiting to get the contract. He was ready for the chance and he is running with it.
Kelce: Really was the focus at the start of the game. Good to see him show that he has still got it. And he made the lateral play and this time it didn't get called back due to a flag.
Mahomes played his best game of the season so far. Yes he had the INT but that was not his fault. Juju just simply went full Toney for a play. So even his bad moment was what should have been a TD pass. Really liked what I saw from him tonight. Hopefully it is what we see the rest of the season.
Juju if you are going to have 100 yards and make a number of good plays I guess I can't be to upset when you drop one pass. Next them though A. Don't make that drop in the endzone. And B don't let the ball float up in the air and be picked off. Overall he did way more good then bad. Just can't have that pick. While he was one of the biggest players in the win he also made the worst play of the game from the Chiefs. But lets be real we don't win this game without him.
O Line: They have to do a better job in protection. Mahomes was having to run around a little to much for my liking. They were not bad overall tonight but we don't need to see Mhomes constantly running and having to extend a play like that. Some of that wasn't so much the line as it was lack of Wrs getting open. But they need to be a little better in pass protection. They were pretty darn good with the run
Andy: Best playcalling we have seen this year IMO. The only real play that I took issue with was the gimmick play. You have a rookie RB that has had a fumble problem he should not be in a gimmick play period end of story and it almost cost them the ball. But that was the only play that I had an issue with. So an outstanding job with the play calls from Andy Reid tonight.
Defense: This game was not something we have seen a lot of this year. Normally the first drive is a score and then they really don't give up much after that. Tonight they got the take away on the first drive but gave up a couple of touchodwns afterwards. They were still pretty **** good over all. When you only give up 13 points you are going to win a lot of games. Chris Jones might not have filled up the stat sheet but he really had a impact on the game. Conner once again came up with a couple of big plays as did Tershawn Wharton. Dude was a beast tonight love to see it
We are 5-0 and get the bye this week. A chance to heal up a bit and work some things out. I would love to see them bring in a WR and maybe move on from Skyy Moore I think that roster spot right now is going to rest. Lets hope Veach gets something cooked up GO CHIEFS
