Another week of football is in the books. We are down to just two unbeaten teams The Chiefs and the Vikings.
I have been a member of Chiefs boards for over 15 years. One of the things I think I have become known for is I think coaching is the most important thing in football and hence I am pretty hard on head coaches. To help prove my point I present Sam Darnold. Dude was thought of a as a major bust when he was with the Jets and Panthers. Now he is looking like a franchise QB. Amazing what can happen when you have great coaching. A great coach will find the way to get their talent to be their best. We are seeing that here. He has done it against some pretty good teams so it's not like he is just beating up bad teams. We will see how far he can ride this but so far Darnold has to be in the running for MVP. It's only week 4 so there is a LONG way to go and he might fall on his face at any moment but man I don't think anyone thought he would be where he is. Good for Sam.
The Jets: How in the hell do you find a way to lose when your defense holds a team to -7 passing yards in a half? WOW! The Jets offense looks awful. I mean your starting RB has 10 carries for 4 yards. How does that happen. Head coach has to be on the hot seat. I don't think the marriage between the Jets and Rodgers is going to last more than this season. To put it in the most simple of terms the Jets are still the freaking Jets.
Cincy was finally able to get a win this week. I am sure they will be back to talking it's what they do. They beat a horrible Panthers team. I don't know if they are nearly as good as we thought they were. We will find out about them this week when they face the Ravens.
The Ravens had an 0-2 start but really have seemed to bounce back. They didn't just beat the Bills on Sunday night they dominated the Bills from start to finish. They still do a lot of stupid stuff in games and just never learn so I still think that will be what ends their season. But they will be a threat to say the least. We still have a 2 game lead on them for home field and the tie breaker. But they are going to be a major threat to end the Chiefs run at a 3-peat.
I am not sure what to make of the Bills after that Sunday night game. When they ran through the Jags and Dolphins we thought they beat some really good teams. That didn't turn out to be the case. I might have been right when I said I think they will take a step back this year after all. Or that just might have been a klunker that pretty much every team will have. I am not as sold on the Bills as I was at the start of the season but I am still going to watch to see just how big of a threat they are going to be come January. The good news for them is right now the AFC east looks pretty weak. So I do think they will make it to January
Joe Flacco just won't go away. Last year he had a pretty nice run with Cleveland and last Sunday he came in and lead a pretty nice win for the Colts. Dude just finds a way to stick around and provide some nice leadership for teams. Maybe Cleveland kept the wrong guy.
Speaking of Cleveland WOOF. They need a change at OC really bad. At one point I looked at the stats for their game and saw Watson had 10 completions for under 50 yards. LIKE HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN? They have a good defense that is banged up a tad. But they have a mess for an offense. They need to make a change at OC he wasn't getting the job done with the Bills and he is for sure not doing much with the Browns who have some nice pieces on offense. They need a change and need on before the season ends if they have any hopes of righting the ship. Or they can keep him and punt the season and Maybe trade us Cooper? That would be just fine with me
What a mess the Dolphins are. This had lead some Chiefs fans to think they might be willing to part with Hill. I don't think they will be and don't think that would be the best thing for the Chiefs to do. There was a reason the Chiefs moved on from him and that was it would just take to much money against the cap to make such a move. But I have to think that he might be regretting going for the money over winning right now.
Hey look the Bears won. And their QB looked DECENT. For the Chicago Bears a QB looking decent is a major thing. Good for them! Yes I am taking shots at the Bears
We are 4 weeks in and have some very surprising teams in 1st place in the NFC . I don't think any of us had the Vikings, Commanders, and Seahawks being the 1st place teams and that's why we play the games. I don't know if I think that any of these teams will be in 1st place when the season ends but I think at least one of those teams will. If I had to guess right now I would say it's the Vikings but the Commanders have looked really good. Can't wait to keep watching to see how it all turns out.
